Clay monoprints

Each work begins on a slab of clay—the matrix—where layers of colored slip, pigment, and marks are built before the image is transferred to another surface. Every pull is singular. Traces of previous works remain in the matrix and find their way into what comes next.
Andrew’s approach is grounded in experimentation. Geometric structures give the image an anchor, while the material keeps the result from becoming fully predictable. Recent works extend that inquiry into figurative abstraction and mixed media.
